The Brighton Cornea Course

The Brighton Cornea Course is returning this year and is a must visit for anyone with an interest in cornea and external eye disease. The conference will hold talks suitable for trainees wanting to learn about the cornea and conjunctiva, as well as professional consultants looking to be updated on the research and innovation in the speciality.

The conference will be held over two days, Friday 13th and Saturday 14th June 2014 and a meal will be hosted on Friday evening for all attendees. There is a full programme of over 50 talks, covering a wide range of topics including imaging, contact lens fitting, and infection. Each day will be split into 6 sessions, each with multiple lectures. There will also be extra talks held on practical procedures, keratoconus and other ectactic conditions, and Simplex, Zoster and IK.  The full programme can be viewed here. Other talks include ocular surface and stem cells, allergy, and recurrent cornea erosion.

There will be a range of speakers at the event who work in hospitals, universities and medical schools. The reading material and hand outs will be provided ahead of the talks, so the attendees can fully benefit from each lecture.

Attendees can choose to go to just one of the days or to attend both. The last Brighton Cornea Course was held in 2008. It was a complete success, and the event was oversubscribed and had a waiting list, so make sure to register early if you wish to attend this year!

The event is being held at the Audrey Emerton Building in Brighton, and Early Bird discount tickets are available until 15th May. It really a is a must-attend event for anyone with an interest in the cornea and other eye disease and the event will give a balanced, British view on the subject.
