Tongdean Eye Clinic Sponsors the Arts

When Professor Christopher Liu was asked if he would help with getting a professional video made of Federico Colli's London debut piano recital he was pleased to assist. Federico won the 2012 Leeds International Piano Competition as well as First Prize at the Salzburg Mozart Competition in 2011. The Tongdean Eye Clinic sponsored the production of a video recording of Federico Colli's London debut piano recital at The Queen Elizabeth Hall on London’s Southbank. It was an eagerly anticipated recital debut with three substantial sonatas by Mozart, Beethoven and Schumann. 

“It helps young upcoming artists if they can have a professionally produced video of their performance. In life, one needs ability and focused hard work to succeed. But one also needs luck, and some help whilst climbing the ladder. I was fortunate to have such help from many mentors and friends, and I derive great pleasure and satisfaction with giving back. The young Italian pianist from Brescia, impressed the jurors and audience alike. Pianist Kathryn Stott, commenting for the BBC, remarked, 'He's a superb pianist, totally amazing.'

He is a modest and utterly humble creative genius. Who most recently accepted his place at the International Piano Festival, Brescia and Bergamo, where he is thrilled to be returning and playing in his beloved home city.
