This October, Tongdean Eye Clinic’s consultant ophthalmic surgeon and director Professor Christopher Liu travelled to Prior Park College in the beautiful World Heritage City of Bath to give an insightful talk to students interested in pursuing a career in Medicine.
The talk, which was presented to 6th form and GSCE MEDSOC students, was based around Liu’s experiences as an Ophthalmologist and the challenges that he faces in the field. Liu also used the opportunity to speak passionately about how success is cultivated through life-long learning and the importance of keeping abreast of the latest technologies and procedures. The informed and personal talk added to MEDSOC’s esteemed weekly lecture calendar, which is comprised of influential medical professionals from specialised fields.
Like so many of his presentations, the students at Prior Park College found his talk extremely inspirational and informative. To mark the end of the presentation and encourage further learning on the subjects discussed, students were given a copy of Professor Liu’s book, ‘The Eyes Have It: A Personal View’.
