Tongdean Eye Clinic Welcomes Newest Member to the Team

Tongdean Eye Clinic gains an extra member to its expert team, medical secretary, Awa Sanogo.

 Awa Sanogo

After a long career as a secretary and support worker, Sanogo, who is based in Brighton, is now looking forward to progressing her skills within the medical industry in a similar role. A marketing graduate, Awa has forged her own path in business to lead up to this point and has enjoyed working with a variety of people during her career.

Following online research on Christopher Liu and the clinic on Tongdean Road in Hove, particularly a Telegraph article that discussed how Professor Liu restored the sight of a patient that had suffered from blindness for years by performing an Osteo-Odonto-Keratoprosthesis procedure, Awa was excited about meeting the team and applying for the vacancy.

After reading through Awa’s impressive CV, which highlighted her personal motivation, tenacity and long list of learned skills that had led her to take on high responsibility roles, Professor Liu felt that her experience matched the requirements for the vacancy at the clinic.

We feel confident that Awa will be able to handle the day-to-day activities that are required of a medical secretary, including handling bookings, answering queries efficiently and sending clinical notes and letters to GPs and clinicians when required. Her past experience will also complement Tongdean’s focus on extremely high levels of patient care that has been in place for more than eighteen years.

Upon the news of her new role at Tongdean Eye Clinic, Awa Sanogo stated that: “To me it’s an honour to be part of the Tongdean team and I am confident I will be able to make a major contribution.”
